S Sudan expresses dissatisfaction with the decision to suspend Sudan’s membership in AU

The Government of Southern Sudan expressed dissatisfaction with the decision to suspend Sudan’s membership in the African Union, saying that Sudan and Uganda are the guarantors of the activated peace agreement.

The Security Council and the African Peace Council on Thursday suspended Sudan’s membership in all EU activities until the formation of a transitional council led by civilians.

Information Minister and Spokesman for the Government of Southern Sudan, Michael McCoy Loith, said in a press statement after the cabinet meeting that the suspension of Sudan’s membership in the African Union was not consulted about as a neighboring country, although there is a demand that the state of South Sudan to be part of the mechanism to resolve the crisis of Sudan.
